So the whole gang is up north, the weather is beautiful and the stars are amazing. Not as amazing as Meadview but still wonderful, always worth the drive but I think since I have descended on my son with my traveling Zoo, he may not feel the same way. The fact that he has to climb a very long flight of stairs to get to his apartment might cause him some displeasure in moving my Zoo. Going down is not so bad it’s the coming back up to go back down again that hurts. Anyway I am sure that since he is here he to feels that it was worth it all, if not tonight I sure after a day of fishing every thing will be hunky dorie. So all are in bed safe and sound, Echo and Chico (the birds), Cloudy, Gracie and Peanut (the dogs) and we must not forget Sweet Apple (the Tortoise). Below is a photo of the Girl in their travel case.

Hi world, I have missed you all. Been kind of out of it the last few days, don’t ask me why. Can’t say, don’t know, but I can say this life goes on. So it is Monday night and the new TV season has started, watched House, disappointed, watched Dancing With The Stars also kind of disappointing, am hoping this is not an indication of things to come. On a lighter note Bill had the kids this weekend so that is always fun and then there is always the dreaded home work thing. Do you have any home work? No don’t have anything to do, that is until about the time you say it is time for bed. AND THEN here it comes, oh I forgot I have math or what ever it is that might keep them up for another two or three hours. Remember? How long have you known about this assignment and when is it due. Oh last Monday and it is due tomorrow. You remember, sure you do! Now this being said I must say that I think that Bill and I did remarkably well, by 10:00 pm home work was complete and they were tucked into their beds. Now on to Peanut my son’s dog. She is just a puppy and tends to get into a lot of trouble and I have learned from experience that nothing is sacred, she will eat anything, she got hold of a clove of Garlic and chewed it and all weekend the kids keep feeding her stuff to make the smell go away, didn’t work by the way. She will chew anything, my $47.00 roll of stamps, she had enough stamps stuck to her to mail her to China, she will even chew my dog Gracie’s ear, so it was no surprise to find this excellent use of toilet paper all over my bed room floor. Now you tell me did Peanut attack the toilet paper or did the toilet paper attack Peanut? You be the judge. Thing is, Bill better watch out because she is just the right size to fit in my suitcase when I leave for Arizona.

So it has been one of those days, kind of like you are always one step behind the rest of the world and you are trying to catch up all the time. You know feeling like you should do something important, making the world a better place, that kind of stuff! In the end all I did was sit around and think about what I should do and did nothing. Every time I did nothing I would fall asleep and every time I fell a sleep I did nothing. Talk about a viscous circle. I lost a friend to cancer yesterday and that makes me sad, she was a nice lady and I will miss her. On the brighter side my son has the kids for the weekend and that makes me happy. Sarah and I made Artist Trading Cards after dinner and that was fun, then we watched Treasurer Island and that made me laugh, I tell you some of those actors put there heart and soul into those death scenes talk about over acting! To end the day on a happy note, here is a photo of one of the ATC I made tonight, my romantic side was sneaking out when I made it I think.

Today was cage cleaning day for Echo, now when ever Echo gets her caged cleaned she gets to take a shower, along with everybody else in the room. Today was a pretty good day for Echo, she wasn’t mad at anybody, nobody was wearing a HAT, she wasn’t hormonal and to top off the day she had just discovered Sweet Potatoes and suddenly it is her new favorite vegetable. So you see she was in a really good mood and was really in to her shower and my camera was laying on the table getting almost as wet as she was and I thought I should maybe try to keep it dry and the fallowing series of pictures ensued. So I thought I would share them with you. By the way the dude giving the fun shower is my son Bill. Enjoy!

Suggestion to all who are contemplating having outpatient surgery do not I repeat do not go shopping on the internet the day of your surgery!! Now I tell you this from experience, you see I was checking my e-mail last night and of course there it was an e-mail from my favorite rubber stamp site. Buy 3 get one free, I am not sure if I was still groggy from the surgery or it was the word free but about 1:30am as I was playing Bookworm it dawned on me about how many free stamps I would be getting. So the moral of this story is when they tell not to conduct any business for 24 hours you should probably listen to them, unless you really want a lot of free stamps. Enough of that, to every one who is waiting with bated breath for those picture my son is so nastily going to post, I think tonight is the night. To all the people who worried about me and prayed for me during my surgery, THANK YOU.

My day is winding down and as you can see I am alive and kicking, maybe not kicking but doing well. Surgery went off with out a hitch (well maybe not without a hitch) surgery was schedule for 2:00pm and did not get started till after 4:00 and by that time I was ready to eat the IV pole but thank god for my son and his friend was there, they keep me in stitches, pardon the pun, don’t know who was hungrier me or them. After it was all said and done they bought me a stake for dinner, thanks guys! Now just to show you all that I have seance of humor. Your laugh for the day.

It is 11:39pm and I am having my last meal before surgery, you know the whole routine nothing to eat or drink after midnight. Well anyway it is not a meal it is just a bowl of grapes but it is still food and I feel like it is a big deal. Go figure, I was playing Bookworm, trying out Dick’s method of playing ( you know him and his big score) it might work for him but it sure didn’t do much for me, got to 750,000 or there about and was zapped by one of those burning red letters well not one but a few. One can deal with one or two but when you have five or six down there you might as well hang it up. Started another game and got to 55,000 and the whole grape thing came up and well the rest is history. Don’t think sleep is going to come to quick tonight so after I finish with this maybe me and the worm will have another go at it, so anyway wish me luck with the game and surgery tomorrow. Just in case to all I love and you know who you are, goodnight and I love you.
Sweet Dreams Everybody!

PS I thought I would post one of my favorite photos!!!

!I must say to my son’s staff, you guys are great! Never have I been around a bunch of guys and had so much fun and not know most of the time what you are talking about! As you can tell when it comes to computers if it takes any of that technical stuff I am lost ( that is why I have my son, well one of the reasons) so it was very nice of you both to treat me like I had some idea of what was going on and to include me in the fun end of the weekend. Ryan I am sorry I was not a better pool partner but then you left a lot to be desired also and Dick what can I say, except thanks for the Bookworm lesson I only hope it helps. Still I would like to know how long it took you to reach that 3,400,000 something score. I’ll be around watching you and trying to catch up so watch out. Hey Bill you know how I feel about you!!! Dick have a nice safe flight and Ryan hope the power is back on. Yo you are to much fun and I am glad you are a member of the DCC calling group. Fun time was had by all!

This is my sister Connie who is one of most gifted and talented people I know, but if you ask her she will be the first to disagree with you. That seems to be the same with all of us kids but if you ask any of us we will all tell you that Connie is able to do it all. Now I really hate to say this but I am jealous of her and all her talents and until this she probably had no idea. So there Connie now you know. When Connie came to Meadview to visit me we had a blast, the spring flowers were outstanding and she hiked all over the place and took tons of pictures, the one below is one I took of her at the Lake Mead Over Look. Now rumor has it that she is going to drive out with us when we go back in October and I am so excited. We will do the picture thing again and hopefully I can keep up with her. Good thing is that my brother Bud will be there so we can go in the Jeep to places we couldn’t go last time. So Connie you can’t change your mind, you have to come. Now the reason for this post is to make up for the picture of us all with my hand in front of your face. Now everyone can see how pretty you are when my hand is not in your face.
