Sometimes it takes a lot longer in your life do certain things than other things. For example, yesterday I decided that it was time to try to figure out how to work my husbands stereo system. Now it has been a slow process moving myself into my husbands computer room, he has been dead for seven years, so little by little I have taken over his computer room which is much bigger then mine. I am telling you my husbands stuff has stuff, no kidding if one was good two was better and you always needed a back up, but that is a different story. Back to the stereo system, first thing to do was to dust it all off and make sure everything worked, well all the lights light up but no sound. Two hours later still no sound but the dogs are having a fit and won’t stop barking, after yelling at them for twenty minutes or so I figure I should go see what the fuss is all about. Sometimes one of the birds will decide to take a stroll on the floor and the dogs will tell on them by barking like nuts but no birds on the floor so I look out the window and all looks well, so back I go to the stereo system. Another half hour of them barking and I figure something must be wrong outside so outside I go where I am greeted by the sounds of Willie And Waylon full blast. Now the lesson learned is if your dogs won’t stop barking you better find out why or make sure you have no neighbors who can complain or worse yet call the police on you. Well I think to myself if the speakers outside work then there must be a reason why the ones inside don’t and guess what, he had the speakers on a switcher, all I had to do was find the switch and turn it. There still are some things I can’t figure out how to work yet of his but I figure all I need is another seven years.

I have decided that I am a procrastinator, never use to be or maybe I was and just did not know it. There are so many things that I need to do ( or so my mind tells me I do) that every night when I go to bed I yell at myself and say (will I will give you the clean version) I have got to get it together and do all this stuff that is driving me crazy. Do I do it? No of course not, every morning I get up and there is always something more important waiting for me to do, like volunteer at the Library or at the Chamber Of Commerce or be Artist of the month at the Library or go to card class or to bingo or set in front of the Computer and trade cards with people all over the world or draw cards to send all over the world or just write my Blog. What do I give up? What is unimportant enough to give up? Nothing, it is all important to me so maybe I am not a procrastinator after all, maybe I am just to busy and maybe age might have something to do with it all or maybe it is that every time I feel good enough to do those unpleasant chores, something happens and I am no longer capable of doing them. Like the car accident I was in, now that is another story for another time. I am fine not to worry. Funny when I sat down to write this, I had nothing to say. Wow, go figure and how was your day?

Ok, so it’s the new year and I know that we are all suppose to start the New Year off with a new outlook on every thing and I did. Problem is that it is only the end of the first week and I have already broken all those promises I made last year. Like get my life in order, clean my closet (god I hate that one), spend less time on the computer, spend less money and save more money, finish Jewel Quest 3 ( never did finish Jewel Quest 2), beat my sisters Bookworm score ( like that’s ever going to happen) and of course the one we all say every year Lose Weight and get healthy. Now let me see I did finish Jewel Quest 3 last night, no bells or whistles, just done, I been playing this stupid game for over a year I expected fire works or something. So what am I going to do all night when I can’t sleep, cant fight with Jewel Quest anymore. Spend less time on the computer, it’s 2:20am and I am still on the computer. Spend less money, only cause I have less to spend, lose weight, well you know how that goes. That leaves the closet and you know I might need those smaller size cloth when I lose all that weight and I will get my life in order just as soon as I beat Connie’s Bookworm score. So hows your New Year Going?

OK, so I know that I just returned from Michigan BUT something has come up and I am flying out of Vegas tomorrow. The thing is I am not real fond of flying, it was bad enough before all this security crap but now you have to be at the airport so early that the time you spend waiting to get though all that stuff, take your jacket off, take your SHOES off, kind of makes you wonder what they are going to make you take off next, you could have been where you are headed to already! Don’t even think of getting though the metal detector without it going off, I need to carry a big sign that says I beep so just go ahead and pat me down, because sure enough when I pass thought the magic arch it is going to go off. Now I try to tell them that I have more metal in my body than a Robot but will they listen, nooooooo their going to make me take off my shoes and whatever else they can make me remove without my being arrested. Finally when everything has been removed that might beep they will let me pass because well some people just beep! Now the really stupid thing is that that is the easy part because now you face the 42 mile walk to your gate, why is it that none of the gates are close enough that you don’t have to take a bus to get to them? Sad thing is in 5 days I have to go though the whole thing again so I can come back to sunny Arizona because my son tells me it is snowing in my Michigan neighborhood and as much as I love him and my Grandchildren I hate snow but business is business so off to the airport I go tomorrow. I was going though some pictures I took this summer and I am going to post one because that is the way I want to think of Michigan as I head off tomorrow. Warm and Sunny, with natures wonderful creatures every where.

OK, so the gravestone was better but still not just right, so I added the tree and leaves. What do you think now? Myself I think it is finished now, I got out my good camera to take the picture but the batteries are dead so back to my point and shoot, so once again the picture sucks but I am pleased about the finished card. Tomorrow is my last day in Michigan, so as you may have guessed I am packing, I hate to pack. Love to travel but the packing crap sucks, but you do what you got to do, so I am off to finish packing.

It is Wednesday night and that means my Grandchildren are spending the night with my son and I and as always it is chaotic and crazy but always fun! Sloppy Joes were on the menu tonight and they were very good, they must of been outstanding because my grand son ate 4 of them, I am always astounded at the amount of food that young man can consume and not get fat. Some place back in the dark recesses of my memory I remember a skinny little girl who could eat like that and still remain a tooth pick but alas that was many years ago and I will never again be called Skinny Minnie, so watch out little Bill, like Grandma you may not always be so lucky! Then came homework and then the goofing around that seams to happen when my son and his kids get together, don’t know who is the bigger kid him or them. You can judge yourself be these crazy photos

Still up in St. Helen and who can be near Houghton Lake and not go to Arnies. Arnies has to be the biggest and best craft store in the United States and every year when I come to Michigan for the summer I spend a lot of time and need I say a fair amount of money at Arnies. Unfortunately this summer I have not been able to stay up north by myself, so therefor I am sure that every one today was very glad to see me and my sister in law when we walked in and started filling our baskets. Needles to say that after two hours or so of shopping we were more than ready to craft the day away, and we did. I figured that all my stamping buddies in Meadview are getting tired of waiting for the home made cards I promised I would send them, so that was my project for the day. After five or six hours and $………I have 4 Cards, now I know that the logic of card making might be lost on some people and I agree for $10.00 or $12.00 I could have bought them all at the store but it is just not the same, ask any card maker and they will all tell you the same. There is nothing like a card that your friend spent all this time and money making for you, so if you have not had the pleasure of receiving one I hope some day you will. There is one problem tho, you can’t bring yourself to throw them away so if you have a lot of friends you have a lot of cards piling up kind of like those magazines you can’t make your self throw away. Below is a photo of Gwen working on Artist Trading Cards and as you might have guessed this Artist Trading Card thing is addictive and so to all my stamping buddies out west, I want you to know it took all my powers to make cards for you and watch her do those little tiny works of art.

So the whole gang is up north, the weather is beautiful and the stars are amazing. Not as amazing as Meadview but still wonderful, always worth the drive but I think since I have descended on my son with my traveling Zoo, he may not feel the same way. The fact that he has to climb a very long flight of stairs to get to his apartment might cause him some displeasure in moving my Zoo. Going down is not so bad it’s the coming back up to go back down again that hurts. Anyway I am sure that since he is here he to feels that it was worth it all, if not tonight I sure after a day of fishing every thing will be hunky dorie. So all are in bed safe and sound, Echo and Chico (the birds), Cloudy, Gracie and Peanut (the dogs) and we must not forget Sweet Apple (the Tortoise). Below is a photo of the Girl in their travel case.

So it has been one of those days, kind of like you are always one step behind the rest of the world and you are trying to catch up all the time. You know feeling like you should do something important, making the world a better place, that kind of stuff! In the end all I did was sit around and think about what I should do and did nothing. Every time I did nothing I would fall asleep and every time I fell a sleep I did nothing. Talk about a viscous circle. I lost a friend to cancer yesterday and that makes me sad, she was a nice lady and I will miss her. On the brighter side my son has the kids for the weekend and that makes me happy. Sarah and I made Artist Trading Cards after dinner and that was fun, then we watched Treasurer Island and that made me laugh, I tell you some of those actors put there heart and soul into those death scenes talk about over acting! To end the day on a happy note, here is a photo of one of the ATC I made tonight, my romantic side was sneaking out when I made it I think.

So, have you ever been in a group of people were you felt totally lost. My son is having a working weekend and has brought in people who work for him from around the country, so I am setting in the midst of some of TCH’S Computer wizards (don’t have a clue most of the time what they are talking about) feeling like a fish out of water. Now the thing is my Bookworm nemeses, Dick from dropdeaddick.com is one of his employees and is in from Texas and in that cute little Texas drawl is telling me how I might be able to achieve that obscene score he so gleefully likes to tell me about. Now as much as I hate to say this, my hat is off to you Sir because I have been trying and have been unable to get past 1,000,000 since you droped that awful but amazing score on me. Never fear, I will keep trying and who knows maybe some day I will have the intense joy of knocking your socks off. Who know, stranger things have happened. Now I have been requested to put my newest AT Cards on line by a very special friend to look at, so OK kid here goes.
