Not new service, just new equipment. Technician said the receiver in my bed room was almost as old as he was and that was why I couldn’t watch some of the programs that I was able to watch in my front room. Problem is the new receivers have a power saver on them so after 4 hours of inactivity they turn off. Normally I leave the TV play all night otherwise the dog barks at every sound she hears, so now do I set the alarm to wake myself up and change the channel every 4 hours so the receiver doesn’t shut it’s self off or do I just wait for the Dog to bark and wake me up and then I can change the channel or turn the TV back on? Just a Joke, shows how littler excitement in my life there is for me to talk about. Other problem is all the programs I had set to record are no longer there.
Oh well, it is what it is! Good thing is I can watch my favorite channel in my bed room! Yeah!!

Wow, talk about surprise, yesterday it was 82 degrees and last night it went down to 49 degrees and today wasn’t much warmer high 56 degrees. Somebody turned off the heat outside and I had to turn on the heat inside, yes I know it is October and I shouldn’t be surprised by the drop in the temperature but it happened so fast! On the bright side, it is supposed to go back up into the Eighty’s again next week and I can’t wait. Funny, I always thought that when people said your blood thins out in the heat were full of you know what but I guess they were right because when I lived in Michigan and it was 56 degrees it was time for the beach. Funny how things change, keeps this up I may have to look for an Electric Blanket.

Funny how such a simple thing as dusting can sometimes turn your world upside down! Decided today that I needed to clean my husbands den, it’s as exactly as he left it when he died 15 years ago. Now don’t think that it’s been 15 years since I cleaned it, not true, it’s like any other part of the house it gets cleaned when I get around to it. LOL. Anyway was dusting his Stein Collection, normally I just use a feather duster but today I decided I would move the Steins and wax the book case, now he has this Stein that was given to him by his Army Unit when he was Leaving Germany after three years of service. Anyways it has his name and dates of service are on it, now I didn’t remember but I do now, his dog tags are in that Stein so when I picked up the Stein to dust it, the Stein made this tinkling noise and to my surprise his Dog Tag are in the Stein. Dusting turned a normal cleaning day into a very Special Day because I took a photo of the Stein with the Dog Tags and sent the photo to my Son and it made his day very happy , so remember you never know what life is going to hand you even on a normal cleaning day!

So tonight is the Harvest Moon and my Sister calls me and says get your good camera out and take some pictures. Easier said than done because I don’t know when the last time I used it but I do know that none of the batteries will be any good. There was a time I was a nut with the camera then I got my I Phone and I was hooked, not the greatest camera in the world but easy because I always carry my phone with me but who is going to carry a camera around with them all the time. After thinking about I decided I would get the camera out and give it a try after all I have lots of batteries boy was that a stupid ide. Memory card is full. Ok no problem right, I’ll just delete some of the extra photos because you always take extra photo to make sure you get a good photo. Wrong, can’t find the card reader! Oh correction found the card reader can’t find the cord for it, I swear you can’t win. As you might have guessed I ordered a new card reader, now how much do you want to bet as soon as I receive the new card reader I will find the cord to the stupid thing! Well I hope you enjoyed the Harvest Moon, it was beautiful even if I didn’t get a photo.

Yes, it is only 76 degrees outside and the high was only 88 degrees today making for a beautiful day. Another benefit of the lower temperature is a lower electric bill!!

Must be my age because everything just gets harder and harder to do or maybe it’s just this stupid blog!! All the time with the pass word, every time I write on this blog I think I have to change the pass word. Things use to be so much simpler to do, oh well life goes on.
On a brighter note my son sent me a picture of my youngest Grandson standing on a picnic table under this big old oak tree with a broom. Great picture, so I say to my son “What is he doing, it looks like he is trying to sweep the leaves off the tree”. My son laughed and said you are right Mom that is what he is trying to do, you see that is the wonder of being 3 years old everything is possible, even sweeping the leaves off the tree. Just think little Man in a few weeks they are all going to fall off anyways but in the time being I am sure Mother Nature will take all the help she can get. So if you look at it this way, the joy of seeing this wonderful little guy trying to sweep the leaves off a tree is worth all the hard things that comes with old age. Sometimes it just takes such a simple thing as the sweet innocence of a child to make you say “Hey wake up life is good even if you are getting old”
