How do you say I am sorry to a Road Runner? Still no Jake, two nights and an empty bowl!!! They say they are territorial and it is Spring ( or almost in AZ) so maybe he is out looking for a date. Oh I forgot they mate for life, so chance are he is out looking for the Old Lady. They have been making little Road Runners for a few years in my yard. Oh a thought, maybe Jake is a Jackie and she is out looking for the Old Man and we know that is going to take longer. So I can hold out hope that in the next few night the bowl on my deck will hold Jake or Jackie again.

Internet says that Road Runners do not go Beep Beep but I beg to differ with them. Last night I think I may have sent Jake away for ever, you see I have these flood lights that I turn on when I take my dogs out at night. Dogs want to got out, I flip on flood lights. What to my disbelief do I hear but the fading Beep Beep sound of Jake, he must have been in the tree by the light when it came on and got spooked. Now unless there was a angry Ford in my yard blowing its horn Road Runners do go Beep Beep. Jake is not in his bowl tonight and I am sad.

I would like to announce the birth of Baby Road Runner, yes there is a Baby in the nest. Jack is being such a good father also, I was unaware that the male Road Runner is the incubator of and the feeder of the Babies. Watching them build the nest in my Mulberry tree was fun just to think that maybe there might be Baby Road Runner and now there is! Jack has been setting on the nest for the last couple of weeks and a couple days ago he was back on top of the cabinet by the door at night so being the Mother Hen that I am I worried and fretted every time he be on to of the cabinet thinking maybe some thing had gotten into the nest, so yesterday I could not stand it any more, how to see in the nest, I would need a ladder. A LADDER you say ho no it would never do. You see I can barely walk let alone stand on a LADDER! So I got my little camera and put the camera over the nest and started taking pictures, took 6 pictures and this is the only one that you could see anything at all and low and behold there is Baby Road Runner! I will keep you posted but for now met Baby Road Runner.
My World is Fun, hope yours is also.
Say Hi to Baby

There is a new dog in my world, and her name is Rooster! I know that is a very strange name for a dog and I ask my son why he named her Rooster. His answer, because she wakes me up just like clock work, so she is just like a Rooster. Works I guess. Now I must tell you that this has got to be the cutest dog I have seen in a very long time, she is half Yorkie and half Shihtz known as a Scorkie and trust me she is to cute. My son has already told me in no uncertain terms that he can’t handle five dogs but like I always say “Whats one more”. She is 10 weeks old and she understands the going outside thing already and I find that amazing, has to be the Shihtz in her because it sure can’t be the Yorkie, trust me I know I am the owner of my third Yorkie. Great dogs but wow, they don’t get the whole house breaking thing. So I am thinking my next dog is going to be a Scorkie, but I guess my son is right, two dogs and two birds is enough for now.

So the whole gang is up north, the weather is beautiful and the stars are amazing. Not as amazing as Meadview but still wonderful, always worth the drive but I think since I have descended on my son with my traveling Zoo, he may not feel the same way. The fact that he has to climb a very long flight of stairs to get to his apartment might cause him some displeasure in moving my Zoo. Going down is not so bad it’s the coming back up to go back down again that hurts. Anyway I am sure that since he is here he to feels that it was worth it all, if not tonight I sure after a day of fishing every thing will be hunky dorie. So all are in bed safe and sound, Echo and Chico (the birds), Cloudy, Gracie and Peanut (the dogs) and we must not forget Sweet Apple (the Tortoise). Below is a photo of the Girl in their travel case.

Today was cage cleaning day for Echo, now when ever Echo gets her caged cleaned she gets to take a shower, along with everybody else in the room. Today was a pretty good day for Echo, she wasn’t mad at anybody, nobody was wearing a HAT, she wasn’t hormonal and to top off the day she had just discovered Sweet Potatoes and suddenly it is her new favorite vegetable. So you see she was in a really good mood and was really in to her shower and my camera was laying on the table getting almost as wet as she was and I thought I should maybe try to keep it dry and the fallowing series of pictures ensued. So I thought I would share them with you. By the way the dude giving the fun shower is my son Bill. Enjoy!

Today is one of those days, yes even in my world there are bad days. Not really bad days just one of those, you know when the world is just not quite right and there isn’t much you can do about except wait for tomorrow. I could tell you why it is not the best day but then I would have to listen to all your problems also and even that seems like to much work, so when I need a laugh I can always depend upon my Zoo for that. So meet Peanut and Gracie, now one set of ears looking at you when come out of the restroom is one thing and worth a good laugh but two sets of them is enough to brighten any day in any body’s world. So if maybe your world is having one of them days, this should help. Anyway I hope so, so now your world has been invaded by the Radar Girls. Talk about ears, I bet those ears could pick up a signal from Mars.
So have a nice day and laugh, it always helps.

During the last few days I have learned a lot about our newest Zoo member, our Russian Tortoise, I learned that she can eat non stop and devour a bag of mixed greens in less than a week, I learned that she loves to set in her food bowl while she eats and I have learned that she is not above using her food bowl as a bathroom and finds no embarrassment in doing so but the main thing I have learned is that Tortoise Poop is just like any other animal poop on the face of the earth, Brown. If you check back in my past posts, you will see that what I thought was poop and looked like white putty is, I don’t know. I know what it is not, it is not poop because since she chooses to use her food bowl as her bathroom daily, I can unequivocally tell you Tortoise Poop is not white. Now you may wonder why I even care, I don’t! I just need to admit to my mistake, which for me is hard to do!!! Like my brother Bud says ” I am never wrong, I thought I was one time but then found out I was mistaken.”
Sweet Apple in her food bowl!

So who thought you could be friends with a tortoise but last night Sweet Apple and I became good buds. Last night she ate out of my hand and also my sons hand. She is very fond of spinach so as you can see she is eating out of my sons hand.
