Thunder!!! Now I have to go find Gracie’s Thunder Shirt before she has a heart attack or she gives me one. Wouldn’t be so bad if it would rain but no the wind will come and blow the clouds away before it rains. Happen a couple days ago, same thing , thunder, Gracie drove me nuts and no rain. Oh I think I counted about 14 drops! Ok, later got to find the Thunder Shirt!

OK, so who sweeps all the dead bugs up in her Art Shop so that when the Pest man comes out to spray and make more dead bugs dosn’t step on dead bugs? That would be me and that just shows you how long it’s been since I have used the Art Shop, you see when you live by yourself you don’t have to worry about your stuff laying around because no one has to look at it but you. Don’t spend a whole lot of time in my Art Shop,so therefor the sweeping of the dead bugs. Gees couldn’t have the Bug Man stepping on all those dead bugs! Alright guys have a good evening and if anyone reads this how about saying “HI” or make a comment. Goodnight World!

Yes, it is me and I don’t understand why it is that every time I want to write on this Blog it becomes such a big chore but after several attempts and of course a new Pass Word I am up and running. So what’s new not much, oh I did run into a Mohave Green Rattle Snake in my yard yesterday, talk about putting the fear of God in you! Did not have a loaded gun so I thought I’ll just take this shovel I keep on my deck to chop off the heads of snakes I see crawling around my deck and stairs but then of course I wasn’t on my deck and the shovel was so I went and got the shovel but then by that time he had spotted me and did his little rattle thing to let me know he had spotted me and being the smart person I am I said it’s your world and headed for the house. Was telling a friend about it today and told her the whole experience made me want to move back to Michigan but then what the heck not any safer there they have Rattler Snakes there also. So I guess the whole point is to watch out for your friendly Wild Life and watch where your walking!!! Miss my Road Runner while he was around didn’t have snakes! Oh well till next time. good Night!

No, as you can see (well you can’t see but we will pretend you can) it is I back in front of the computer so it was not a test. So, lets see, how was your day? My only hope is that it was a lot more exciting than mine, I spent the day at the Gift Gallery. Now you may or may not know that the Gift Gallery is located in our local Chamber Of Commerce and the local craft people sell their crafts there and a small percentage of the sale goes to the Chamber and if you volunteer your time sitting there a couple days a month then that percentage goes down. Today was one of my days!!! Now you tend to get a lot of lost people coming to see you and nine times out of ten they are looking for the Lake. How can you lose a Lake you say, well there was a time when I would have said “That would not be an easy thing” but not anymore, it is fast disappearing. Oh, back to the story, told him how to get to the Lake and as he was leaving I told him to “Watch out for the Cows” he turned around and said ” Yea what’s with all the dead cows on the road?” Like I told him they haven’t figured out yet they have to wait their turn, just like people they think there first in line. Maybe if we were to slow it down just a tad there wouldn’t be a new dead cow on the road every time we drive in and out of Meadview, I know we tend to blame it on Canyon visitors but come on now can’t all be their fault. Hope I didn’t tick anybody off, wouldn’t want to do that I love this area way to much, even the goofy Cows.
If you are reading this, let me know what you think.

They are building a nest in my Mulberry Tree, can tiny Road Runners be far behind? They are so busy carrying twigs back and forth. Will keep you posted.

Ok, is it just me or are there a lot of unbalanced people in this world? What person in his or her right mind would walk across the Grand Canyon on a tight rope? Well it was not really a rope but a cable or wire, you could not get me to walk across the Grand Canyon on a SIDEWALK let a lone a tight rope. You see I live 21 miles from the West rim of the Grand Canyon and The Sky Walk and you could not get me to walk on that piece of Plexiglass for all the money that guy made for walking across the canyon. Must admit it was exciting , I am glad he made it with out falling but then it might have been more exciting if he had. Sorry, I know that sounds really bad but do you think they would have paid him all that money if they knew for sure he was not going to fall. No I didn’t want him to fall so do not leave comments that tell me what a bad person I am but it dose say a lot about us, I would venture to guess that it was one of the highest rated programs tonight.
Now on to more exciting things. You never know what you might run into when you walk out the door in Arizona, it could be any thing from a Snake (not the nice kind) to a Bob Cat or sometimes there might even be a person out there (not to likely). Couple days ago it was Javelin, not one but two! Now my two guard dogs, as always on guard, spotted them and decided it was their duty to rid the yard of them. Now being their loving master I decided that their combined weight of 10 lbs gave somebody an unfair advantage and believe me it wasn’t my faithful Guard Dogs who by the way are always on a chain due to these kind of surprises. Another thing I learned that day was always make sure you have good batteries in your camera (which I did not), needless to say I was very lucky to get these photos. Used the camera on my phone so not the best photos but I was very happy to get them. Now the Javelin may not be as exciting the Man on a Rope but I think it comes pretty darn close. Check back again to see what surprising thing might show up in my yard, you never know it might just be time to bring out those nasty Guard Dogs again!
Till next time World, it’s Sharlet

Yesterday we drove to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, it was breathtaking!! You could never take your car into the canyon before but the Indians are letting you drive down to where they take the rafters to go down the river, at $15.00 a person it was worth every penny. You start in Peach Springs and drive all the way down to the Colorado river, it was amazing to be so close to the river and all that fast moving water. Bud, Gwen, Connie and Pete got up close and personal to the river and since I am just getting better I was forced to forgo the up close and personal thing, I can barely walk can you imagine me trying to swim that fast moving thing. My falling in the river would have been the topper of the day, we all took our cameras and the first thing we see are two donkeys, and since I am still limping and having a lot of pain I get to set in the front seat and of course that makes for fast action on, so I am snapping and snapping pictures of this geat looking donkey who by now has it nose stuck though the car window eating some potato chips. Now you must understand that every person in the backseat is complaining that I am getting the best shots and they were right but the thing is those pictures of the cute donkey are only a memory in my mind, because I forgot to put the compact flash drive in my camera, it is a good thing that I decided to see how the picture turned out or I never would of known that there was no memory card in the camera. On the brighter side I got some nice pictures of a big horn sheep and some nice shots of the canyon and river, that I would like to share with you.

Wow!! If I had wanted this kind of weather I would have stayed in Michigan and waited for Michigan snow, instead I hurry back to Arizona to miss the white stuff and what do I get, Arizona Snow, go figure. Yes believe it or not it snowed on the Grand Wash Cliffs, now this is not unheard of, it dose snow in Meadview but generally not till January or so, not in October. Give me a brake, I have got my heat on and it is not even Halloween yet. Those poor kids that are use to trick or treating in shorts and a tee shirt are going to have to wear ear muffs! Yes, three days ago I was out on the boat with no pole Nutter, my brother who took all his fishing stuff off the boat so has to not be tempted to fish and was tease so badly by the jumping fish that he finally said “Just call me no pole Nutter”. Now that quote leaves to many ways for me to get in trouble, so I will move on. Like I said we were on the boat three days ago and it was 87 degrees and last night it was in the low 30’s, and my heat is on and I am wearing a coat and this is Arizona and as you can guess I am a little bummed out. So hows the weather in your world I would like to know? Better than mine I hope and just to show you that it dose snow in my Arizona, below is picture from one of last years snow. Enjoy!

Yesterday I went in the desert with Gwen, Connie and Pete, Bud stayed home to watch the NasCar races. Now if there is anything that man likes better than fishing it is watching cars go round in circles followed by an exciting game of Golf. Now don’t get me wrong I love my brother to death but his choice of sports might have been just a little more excitement that this old ladies heart could have handled, so I chose the desert. One of my better decision I might add, we decided to go up to the Grand Canyon and take Buck And Doe road over to Peach Spring, which is the tribal center for the Hulapai Indians and then take old route 66 back to Kingman. Buck And Doe road takes you across a mountain range that has some breathtaking views of the Canyon and then brings you out to old 66 which is great fun just by it’s self! It was another beautiful day in my world and I am sorry my brother didn’t go with us because I am sure our day was a lot more exciting than his, well there was that one small misshape with the Bronco and he did have to come and rescue us, but still and all, the race was over by then. Below are some pictures of an old General Store we stopped at to get something to drink, I hope you enjoy them.

Lake Mead was beautiful to day, the water was like glass and the light for taking photographs was amazing. My brother Bud took me , his wife Gwen, her brother Pete ( who just arrived from Alaska) and my sister Connie out on his boat today. Now to say that was nice of him would be an understatement because his boat is a bass boat and boy dose the man love to fish but today his took all the fishing stuff off the boat so he wouldn’t be tempted to stop and fish. Now it seems to me that the fish must of some how known this because they were jumping out of the water today almost as if to say, “ha ha look at me, you can’t catch me” but I got the impression that he was thinking, ” I’ll be back”, just like the Terminator. Aside from Bud being tormented by the fish it was an outstanding day, we saw a wild Donkey, all kinds of birds and even a herd of cattle drinking from the lake, took a bunch of pictures and watch a beautiful sunset. All and all it was one of the better days in my world and I would like to share a little of it with you. Enjoy!
